DOUGIE WALLACE
BUS RESPONSE

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, Dougie Wallace was not indoors. He was on the streets of London, doing what he does best – photographing the city and it’s inhabitants at a time of great change.

Dougie’s document of the capital focuses in on the iconic red bus, using the public transport routes to guide his journey, and the buses themselves to reflect the changing face of life in the city during this most turbulent period.

As the streets emptied, and events were cancelled, Londoners masked up, and we “ate out to help out”, Dougie was there with his camera capturing it all. His photographs were collected in to a book published by Dewi Lewis in early 2021, with an accompanying billboard campaign in East London.
