JONĖ REED
FOR
SCAPA
Commissioned by Zak Agency, Jonė Reed travelled to Orkney, Scotland to photograph the people, surroundings and distillery for the iconic Scapa whisky rebrand.
In working with a product that is intimately tied to the land and heritage of the Scottish countryside and people, Jonė used her identifiable photographic style to push each individual image into a cinematic space. In-residence on the island for the week, Jonė was in pursuit to convey the feeling and emotion of the Scottish landscape.
Travelling from London, the journey to Orkney saw the team travel over 800km.
The remoteness of Orkney and the wild nature of the island’s wilderness, paired with the human interaction and effort into the whisky’s production are integral parts of the Distillery’s identity and key aspects conveyed through the resulting images.
